Baseboard electric heaters are efficient energy sources and they have been quite popular among homeowners. With the cost of gas heating as well as oil heating is outrageous right now, having a bill of $300-$400 per month for heating can definitely put a burden on anyone’s budget. Many families have to stock away extra funds all year long during the winter months or spread these payments over the entire year to make ends meet. Other families choose to invest in baseboard electric heaters to replace their existing systems.

Installing baseboard electric heaters may seem like a costly endeavor but it can save you a lot of money in the long run. Baseboard electric heaters are clean and efficient. Never using any other natural resource aside from electricity, they run at the fraction of the price of gas and oil. The heating systems work naturally to heat your home.

By naturally, I mean that you can strategically place the baseboard electric heaters under your windows. Since the heating systems use convection to circulate the air around the room. Heat rises. The low-sitting baseboard electric heater release heat low to the floor. The warm air naturally rises and circulates throughout the room.

My husband and I have lived in homes with oil heat, gas heat and baseboard electric heaters. The electric heating systems are by far superior to gas and oil for a number of reasons. The primary reason is convenience.

Another type of heat is radiant heat. When we lived in a home that used oil for heat we had to strategically determine the best time of year to order our yearly supply. The cost of the natural resource is so volatile that I could not even get an estimate of the price if I ordered a week in advance. The supplier stated that the price could fluctuate greatly in a matter of days. We had to order on the spot and take whatever bill they gave us. One of my friends ordered a whole supply of oil; as much as his tank could hold, but used it all up in one month only. He lives in New Jersey.

The bill was a shock to his wallet - $355. We found that ordering heating oil in the summer was the best way to go but no one likes purchasing this kind of thing off season. And then what do you do when you have to put in another order in the dead of winter? We never have sticker shock with the baseboard electric heaters. Our bills are pretty much consistent from month to month.

We also hated having to take time off work to wait for a technician to arrive and fill the oil tank. We always needed more oil than expected every year. The technician could never give us an exact amount until he was finished and we often spent the better part of a morning or afternoon just waiting for him to arrive. Baseboard electric heaters are always in place. I love consistency.
